Annette Warner & David Schartman
Annette Warner and David Schartman share a deeply aligned creative partnership built on storytelling, original music, and the belief that the arts can change lives. Their collaboration brings together Annette’s lived experience, heartfelt vision, and original musical compositions with David’s award-recognized craftsmanship as a Grammy-nominated music artist and playwright. Together, they create work that honors artistic excellence while intentionally serving the community.

Their flagship project, OMK – The Musical, reflects a new and hopeful approach to social-impact theatre. Conceived and musically written by Warner, with script and theatrical structure by Schartman, the production blends humor, emotional honesty, and genuine transformation. More than a performance, the musical is designed as a sustainable engine of good—raising funds, increasing awareness, and building meaningful community engagement in support of young people overcoming homelessness and emotional trauma through the Ole Ms. Kringle Foundation.
At the heart of Warner and Schartman’s collaboration is a shared belief that creativity restores dignity, fosters belonging, and opens doors to opportunity. Their artistic philosophy is grounded in three core values: Creating human connection through story and music Empowering young people as emerging creators and leaders Offering accessible, emotionally resonant storytelling that invites healing, reflection, and participation Together, they see the arts not as an escape from real-world challenges, but as a bridge toward resilience, self-worth, and long-term stability. Their partnership aims to expand community arts programming, develop creative learning pathways for young adults, and grow the OMK model into additional productions, workshops, and youth-centered initiatives. Their guiding ethos—“Give them an inch, so they can take a mile”—captures their shared commitment to meeting people where they are, offering real opportunity, and using the arts as a powerful catalyst for personal and community transformation.
