The OMK Foundation's main hallmark program will be the "Journey Mentor" program. An exciting effort to help homeless young adults make sense of their life's gifts and to nourish abilities and dreams. Please read below for detailed info on how the mentorship program works.
HOW IT WORKS
The mentorship program, specifically the "OMK Journey Mentor" (trademark pending) program coming to fruition within the OMK Foundation will support homeless young adults aged 18-25 in improving their quality of life, teaching life skills, and helping them reach their goals.
Key Components of the Journey Mentor program:
- Mentor Matching: Participants are paired with experienced mentors who offer guidance, support, and expertise.
- Personalized Growth: Mentees receive support in achieving personal and professional goals, developing skills, and building confidence.
- Networking Opportunities: Participants can expand their professional network and access valuable connections.
- Regular Check-ins: Mentors and mentees typically meet regularly to discuss progress, set goals, and address challenges.
Program Structure:
- Clear Goals: Programs define specific objectives and outcomes for participants.
- Mentor Training: Mentors often undergo training to ensure they're equipped to support their mentees effectively.
- Ongoing Evaluation: Programs regularly assess progress and make adjustments to optimize the experience.
Additional Support:
- Education and Career Support: Assistance with college applications, job training, and career development.
- Life Skills Training: Guidance on essential life skills, such as resume building, interviewing, and financial management.
- Community Engagement: Opportunities to connect with others, build relationships, and develop a sense of community. We are looking forward to launching this program within the org.
